How to manage a flexible team of volunteers for short term roles.

Need volunteers for events, one-off, short term or traffic marshal roles? Create a flexteam!

Some volunteer roles don't need a weekly commitment, they just need the right people at the right moment. Think event support, traffic marshals, or one-off activities. A flexteam makes that easy: you build a group of go-to volunteers on the platform which you can easily send opportunities to, who are ready to jump in whenever you need them.

Once you've set up a flexteam, you can add recommendations to the organisations, and easily send emails to the volunteers with fitting roles.

In this article, we're showing an example of how to use flexible teams from one of our partners. It also includes a 5-step guide on how to set one up yourself.

Setting up a flexteam

  1. Decide who will manage the flexteam. Will you handle it yourself, or will the administrators of the (events) organisation take care of it?
  2. Choose how you want to set it up:
  3. Create the team or organisation in the platform and don't forget to add the right admins.
  4. Already have a list of volunteers? Invite them to join.
  5. Add a page with an invitation link, so new volunteers can sign up on their own.
