In this article, we explain which tags exist, where users may encounter them, and how you, as a platform administrator, can make use tags for filtering.

The following provides a clear picture of the possibilities and will hopefully help clarify your ideas. However, every platform is different, and customisable tags can only be created by us. Please contact your Partnership Manager for help in optimally configuring your platform.
Standard Tags (Deedmob-wide)
Standard tags are used across every platform and are linked to organisations, users, the volunteer pool, and the talent scan. These cannot be customised, but it is possible to hide tags—either individual standard tags or entire groups.
The following groups of standard tags are available on every platform:
-
Causes
-
Activities
-
SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)
In addition to these standard groups, there are several individual tags that are included by default on each platform. An overview:
-
Suitable for groups (linked to activities / opportunities)
-
Suitable for non-native speakers (linked to activities / opportunities)
-
Reimbursement of costs (linked to activities / opportunities)
-
Extra support (linked to activities / opportunities)
-
ANBI/SBBI status (Dutch label, linked to organisations)
-
P2P opportunities only (when the 1-on-1 functionality is activated, linked to activities / opportunities)
-
New opportunities (linked to activities / opportunities, only shows activities published in the past two weeks)
A complete overview of all current tags can be found on volunteer.deedmob.com.
Customisable Tags (Platform-specific)
In addition to the standard set of tags, we also offer customisable tags. These can be created and configured on a per-platform basis. Here is an overview of what is possible:
-
Individual: You can create individual tags and link them to any of the three activity types we offer (volunteering, learning opportunities, and community activities), as well as to organisations.
-
Grouped: You can group individual tags together. This group can then be linked as a whole to any of the three activity types and to organisations.
-
Sorting: You can define the order of both individual and grouped tags yourself. Groups are always displayed as a block. This order is maintained everywhere on the platform.
-
Requirement: You can indicate whether a group must be filled in. If a group is mandatory, the user must select at least one tag from it. Note: all individual tags together form one group—you can only set all individual tags as required together.
-
Visibility: You can decide whether each tag is visible only to organisations or also to regular users (in the activity / opportunity bank).
-
Customisable Labels: As a bonus, you can also customise the labels for different audiences. This means that the terminology and any explanations (via the question mark icon) can vary between organisations and regular users. This makes it easier to explain what a tag is for.
As you can see, almost any desired configuration is possible on a Deedmob platform. Please contact your Partnership Manager for help with optimally setting up your platform.

How can I, as a Platform Administrator, use the tags for filtering?
Platform administrators can use the filters when displaying specific activities, filtering data tables, analysing charts, and during matchmaking.
When displaying specific activities on a page:
When adding an activity section to a page, you can specify which activities to display using all active Cause-, Activity-, SDG-, and Customisable Tags.
When filtering data tables:
-
The organisation table can be filtered using Cause Tags, if active.
-
The activity table can be filtered using Cause-, Activity-, SDG-, and Customisable Tags, if active.
When analysing charts:
-
Charts relating to organisations display Cause- and SDG tags, if active.
-
Charts relating to activities, registrations, and activity hours display Cause-, Activity-, and SDG Tags, if active.
-
Charts relating to users do NOT display any tags.
Customisable tags are not shown anywhere within 'analytics'.
During matchmaking:
When clicking on a user’s profile, you can apply their preferences (tags) directly to the search page. This provides an instant overview of potentially suitable activities.
You can also manually filter the organisation or activity table based on tags to make a recommendation to the user.
The above gives a clear overview of the possibilities and will hopefully help you in shaping your ideas. However, each platform is different and customisable tags can only be created by us. Please contact your Partnership Manager for assistance in setting up your platform in the best way.
