How do I manually assign a person to an activity?

You can assign users to vacancies, activities, workshops, events, tasks, or projects in just a few clicks by manually creating an application.

As an organization administrator or moderator, you can assign a member of your organization to your activity, workshop, event, etc. This allows you to manually create a registration for a member without them having to sign up for the activity first.

Assigning Persons

  • You can manually create a registration for any activity.
  • You can set any possible status.
  • The registration will be immediately visible to the user. NOTE: the person must be a member of your organization (learn more).
  • Also possible if an activity is already closed or has ended.
  • Only do this if the user is aware!

When to use? Assigning is especially useful if there has been offline contact and you want to save the person effort. You can also use this to get the administration in order afterward.

How does it work? You can assign users to activities in a few steps by manually creating an application.

  1. Go to: profile icon (top right) > organization > activities. You will now see a list of all your activities. NOTE: depending on your platform settings, this may have a different name (e.g., vacancies or internships).
  2. Find the activity to which you want to assign someone. You can use the filters at the top of the page if necessary. Click on the name.
  3. You are now on the activity page. At the top, you see a colored bar with several options. Click on ‘+ Assign user’. A pop-up will now appear with 4 input fields:
    1. Activity: this is already filled in but can still be changed
    2. User: search and select the desired user
    3. Status: choose the appropriate status
    4. Message: optional; this message will be sent to the user
  4. Click "Assign and send" or "Assign without notifying".
