You can use the chat function to send volunteers or members of your organisation a message. Whenever a volunteer applies to one of your opportunities, a chat will automatically be started between the contact person of the concerning opportunity and the volunteer who applied. Anytime a message is sent, the receiver will get an email notification about this.

There are several ways to send messages to a person or organisation.

Via the inbox:

  1. Press on the inbox icon in the top-right corner of your screen
  2. Press on "View all", next to "Messages" 
  3. In the top-left corner you'll find a button that says "Start a conversation"
  4. Enter the name of the person or organisation
  5. Enter a subject line 
  6. Write your message and press "Send"

Via the speech balloon next to the name of the person / send a message to a person:

  1. Press on the speech balloon next to the name of the person you wish to send a message to
  2. Enter a subject line 
  3. Write your message and press "Send"

Via an opportunity page/ send a message to the organiser of the opportunity:

  1. On the left-side of the opportunity, you'll find the name of the organiser of the opportunity. By pressing the text underneath it, you'll be able to "Ask a question"
  2. Enter a subject line 
  3. Write your message and press "Send"

Via an organisation page / send a message to an organisation:

  1. On the left side, underneath the logo of the organisation, you'll find a button saying “Send a message" 
  2. Enter a subject line 
  3. Write your message and press "Send"
  4. Note: all of the admins and moderators of the organisation will be able to view your message

Send a message to multiple people:

  1. Press on the inbox icon in the top-right corner of your screen
  2. Press on "View all", next to "Messages" 
  3. In the left-top corner, press the button that says "Start a new conversation"
  4. Enter the names of the people you'd like to send a message to
  5. Enter a subject line 
  6. Write your message and press "Send"
